As I have shared in conversations with family and friends, Rabbi Alexander Coleman is a gifted guide, to help one navigate life’s journey, drawing upon the wisdom of Judaism passed along throughout the ages.  Some years ago, I had been attending classes with Rabbi Coleman, and had come to respect him as a teacher, and viewed him as a very smart, perceptive, thoughtful, and compassionate person.  What I didn’t know at that time, was that he would turn out to be such an amazing guide, during one of the most challenging times of my life.  As I look back, I feel very fortunate to have had the guidance of Rabbi Coleman during that time, and as I look forward, I feel especially blessed to continue benefiting from his classes!

Rabbi Alexander Coleman is an incredible teacher, mentor, and role model.  Our chance meeting about two years ago, which led to weekly meetings ever since, has permanently impacted my life for the better.  As an aspiring Rabbi at Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, I see my time with Rabbi Coleman as a necessary supplement to my Jewish education.  Rabbi Coleman embodies the virtues of a Torah scholar, one whose thirst for Torah and learning is unquenchable.  His enthusiasm and love of learning is contagious – he can make any seemingly-esoteric text relevant and meaningful for our day-to-day lives.  He has also helped me as a life coach in my secular life.  Because he cares so much about each of his students, he made it his goal to give me greater happiness through a program he created to help me quit smoking cigarettes.  I would recommend Rabbi Coleman to anyone seeking to deepen their connection to their faith, or anyone who wants to infuse their life with God through self-awareness and mindfulness.

He is an amazing teacher with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, very capable and competent at imparting some of that to his students.  He is kind caring and inspiring.  I love to learn with him and from him.
